Hi,
Does anyone know whether this motor works on 2s?
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/dys-be1806- ... 2s-3s.html
The information seems inconsistent with HobbyKing sometimes saying it's 3s and sometimes 2s.
If not can anyone recommend a reasonably cheap 2s brushless?

Re: Brushless motor help
It's 3-4s but me and a couple of others use them on 2s just fine and they have nice mountings on both sides so I would probably recommend it.

Those motors run fine on 2S; a lot of antweight spinners use them.

Re: Brushless motor help
Sorry to hijack this thread somewhat but does anybody use these for ants?

They look to have suitable mounting holes and a decent amount of power, but are they physically too small to stand up to hits?

Re: Brushless motor help
Its only 5.5g and judging by the speed it probably lacks the torque needed, and torque is vital for how well you hit

Re: Brushless motor help
That is the one I was asking Aex about in his latest nano robot so definitely too small for ant or even fleas.
Re: Brushless motor help
Torque is irrelevant to how hard you hit, speed and bite are related to how hard you hit. Torque is how fast you get up to speed, and being able to startup while on the disc.Occashokka wrote:Its only 5.5g and judging by the speed it probably lacks the torque needed, and torque is vital for how well you hit
You want a brushless motor in the 20g range preferably around 30-40w at 2S (listed as 100w+ at 3S). A 3mm shaft is ideal but in all cases you will want to add a second bearing at the disc end of the motor. Like here:
