another tip to help keep hold of bots... if you make ridges on your wedge it will help keep wheels off of the wedge and less likely for a bot to drive off... kinda like what mantis has on its wedge but you wouldnt need them quite like mine...
and i think thats a lovely shade of primer grey

I had been thinking about some sort of none-return kind of set up, inspired by those things at car parks, luckily though my wedge is only 72mm wide so I haven't faced anything narrow enoigh yet... yet...
And I prefer Battleship Grey... sound more 'Ard innit

That was a legitimate worry and the primary reason it hasn't happened yet, although I do have a decent amount of spare weight left...
Once I get it up and running I need to turn my attention to Wej, it got snapped against Stolen Concept at Botfest and is looking very sorry for itself, but I have plans!!! Front hinge flipper with a target 350g+ lift at the very back of the arm... if it works it should be able to almost throw someone off the edge. It's a big if though.

if you have good weight left, maybe have another servo to power a retractable version... would effectively grip from both sides but would be able to release when you needed to...

I have weight spare, but not a lot of space, the electronics 'bay' is 71mmx65mmx10-40mm and has 2 ESCs, 3 motors and the oversize battery in there... it's probably as far as I can develop it without a new shell.

smaller battery and ultra micro servo? i have some tiny 1.3kg turnigy d561mg servo's... team that up with a 180mah nano tech... might be able to squeeze it in somewhere...
servo's are (according to hobbyking) 21.3 x 11.6 x 22.8mm... no idea if this is exact but i can say they are a decent bit smaller than an mg90s servo... i think the mg90s is a 540 size servo...
next to an old mg90s and a 10p for scale... they make them smaller than this... its just this is the smallest i happen to have

Reversed the polarity and pit it back how it should be, and everything kind of works, the Vex29 is snappy and responsive, the grabber moves faster than I thought it ever would and it grabs with 750g or pressure at the tip, I'm delighted!
But now for the kind of, the NanoTwo didn't seem to survive so well, it's obviously receiving and processing the signals, but the motors will barely spin even with full stick movement, and I *think* it was beginning to get warm... damn...
