Stupid questions from newbies
Sorry to be a pain but after the gears sheared on my sg90 I took half the exposed wires then deconstructed it.i then realized servo boards are what people mod to use a circuit boards in nanos and I was wandering if it could be used, what I would need and also would I only need one or is it one per wheel

Re: Stupid questions from newbies
You'd need two, one for each motor. I think they're probably a bit big for nanos though.

The whole servo is only 9g and when all othe components are detached and wires are only an inch long it weighs as less than a gram on my scales

Re: Stupid questions from newbies
And I would also run two wheels through one motor probably

you can use servo boards as ESCs. you would need to modify it though. by this i mean you'd need to remove the potentiometre and replace it with resistors. somebody else could explain in better detail.

Re: Stupid questions from newbies
SG90 Servo boards are what I use for my Nanos, though you'll probably need to get some Nano drive units rather than the servo motors. A really simple way to hack the boards is to pull out the potentiometer (the bit with the red wires going to it), turn it to the central position and put a drip of super glue on it to stop it from turning.
A better way to do it is to remove the potentiometer completely and solder some ~2k resistors in it's place.

You can keep the potentiometer on as long as you find its mid point and glue it in place. But its better to replace them with resistors. I don't really understand what you mean using only one motor. That would mean no steering, unless you plan to use car steering. Or do you mean 4 wheel drive with 2 wheels per motor?

Re: Stupid questions from newbies
I was going to drive it using 2 mini metal cylindrical motor things for 4 wheels I have that's about 1g and I found powering my broken model chopper
EDIT:would show pic but my phone won't let me
