Re: Another New Antweight..
Good luck with construction; you'd be surprised how many of the rest of us are in the same boat!
How much weight is over the wheels when it's not got an opponent on the flipper?

Around 58g (the whole thing weighs ~98g), which should mean it has a reasonable amount of grip, certainly more than it has now... If I can find the space I'm gonna try add some extra weight, and hopefully should cure some of it's problems.

Some how I think I'll make sure it's made of polycarbonate instead of acrylic next time! (though I could've sworn I had checked it...)
*EDIT* turns out it was made of vinyl, which explains why it was quite so poor, and also why it fooled me into thinking it was poly!

Re: Another New Antweight..
Newly repaired Lionel with a poly-carbonate top.
It's a little on the thin side at only 1mm, but it's all I've got atm (that's not 6mm which is too heavy).
Also planning another ant (possibly a spinner) before next AWS; work will start on that around the start of June after exams..

Rory, is there a reason for the name Lionel or is it just a name?

Re: Another New Antweight..
Well I was gonna call it 'Denominator', but during a few rounds of the Robot Wars drinking game in my flat, my housemates decided that it was a stupid name and that it should be called something like Lionel... The name somehow stuck

Stanley narrowly avoided being renamed to Richie in the same incident (Which is now used for Rory's feather)

Re: Another New Antweight..
I wondered if all you guys had named them in a similar way. Are you aware of my 'Lionel Richie' based ant? Haha
