I wondered if anyone knew of a website similar to something like Shapeways, but with CNC machining rather than 3D printing. Something aimed towards hobbyists/one-off items where you could upload a CAD, choose a material, and immediately get a quote for how much it would cost to be produced. I know there's emachineshop in the states, but their prices can be somewhat ridiculous if you're not ordering high volumes of an item, and the shipping to UK would obviously be slow and/or expensive.
Does anyone know of anything suitable over here?
Failing that, I know there's some roboteers with access to CNC facilities who make bits for fellow competitors. Could anyone recommend me anyone in particular, and provide me with a means of contacting them?
Many thanks.

Might be worth contacting a local hackerspace as often they have CNC machines available for use by members (often small fee monthly, and trainig costs but then you can use whenever...

Re: CNC Machining
Try ProtoMold. They do injection molding and CNC. Turnaround is quick but prices are a bit steep.

Alternatively I regularly put antweight stuff in with the company jobs so can arrange SLS or CNC work if necessary.
