I looked through the internet but i couldn't find anything telling me how to build a vertical spinning blade.
Could you tell me what I need to make one. :o

I'm guessing this is your first antweight?

If yes, dont. You need some experince first with how a basic antweight works before going to more advanced spinners.

Yes, this is my first antweight. I read somewhere that a spinner was the best starter weapon. If it isn't tell me what weapon I should have and what I need to make one.

No weapon at all is the best first robot. Just a pusher is hard enough to get it all together, and when you've built that, if you've kept the weight low enough, you could add a weapon, perhaps a flipper.

Do you know about using servos for wheel motors, or are you going for motor drives and a speed controller?

I see that your location is given as Virginia is that USA. If so do you realise that the real antweight class, used in the UK and Europe, is 150gms where as for some reason the USA decided to make theirs 1lb almost 3 times the weight. In the US they call our ants either 150gm robots or Fairies.

Yes I do know that our U.S. antweights are about three times larger than yours. Here is a link to the website I am going to buy my parts from.

Minus the Chassis, ABS Plate, and Fastener Set.

Yes, don't start off with a spinner... it's a world of problems waiting to happen. I personly, have experiance with fast spinnging things
(ie: RC cars 120+ km/h) Im starting out with an US antweight Eggbeater.
As for "not finding anthing on builind a vert blade...." pretty much
motor and speedo+ blade+ gears or pullies+ *SAFTY* goggles and such = spinner You'll figure it out

Is there anything else?
I'll call myself a noob. I know nothing compaired to some of the guys on here. Just feel free to ask

How About a hammer? Do you think that would be a better starter weapon?
I found a guide to spinning blades and what you need for them.

Well, I don't know too much about UK antweight hammers... I do know they don't do too much damage. Maybe the only way you can do some pretty good damage, is using springs or elastics. If you look at PeteW's new flipper, it has an elastic powering it and a very smart locking system...

here's a demo. Just scroll all the way to the last post on the page
