Yeah, it's true but its not that easy. For a start, I need to know who owns what to be able to attach a login. Then I need to write the login pages. Then I need to write the update pages.
Actually, I've done most of that, and part of the idea of the electronic registration is that I capture some of the robot information and transfer it, but not all of it and of course half the entries never make it to an event!
I will get around to it some day - if only I didn't have to go to work everyday
Alternatively could you get users to update their own page and send it to you, then either yourself/Gary or other approvers actually upload it to the site?
There are quite a few ants missing and others that have been updated. Since the DB is out of date is it worth starting from scratch? I know it's lots of work but at least you knew everything would be upto date.
I do have some background knowledge of your database now Pete and I've already made some serious alterations in the DRG implementation (techcheck reports, event and arena reports, past event pages, and so on). I could create the pages to modify the robots, then you would have to do the hard part and that is create logins.
I do actually already have the pages to do it all, but they need tidying up to make them user friendly (at the mo, no one will understand them except me). I have a login system as well which allows you access to your robots and events but it uses a different system to the board and I'd really like to tie them together.
Oliver, the data is all stored in a database - there are no seperate pages - so its just a case of updating the data. A lot of the robots that are missing are actually in the tables for the registration system. I transfered some a while back, but need a few more.
If people are really prepared to update their own information, I'll put in a bit of effort and get it sorted out. I was considering re-writing the whole page in .Net (which I use at work) but some of the pages in this site are so complex that I don't think I can really find the time.
I've corrected the Stewie entry. I didn't bother changing the FIN pic as it already had one and the existing one was much the same. I'm sure its evolved Dave, but in appearance its much the same.
Pete, for my ones, wouldnt it just be easier to get the info and pics off the builders database? If you can get on it that is, I just tried and couldnt....
