Pictures are up!
Sorry for any bots I didn't get pictures of, the sign-up process was hurried and I'm sure I forgot some Also some of them are a bit out of focus, again, I was rushing, so meh. Big thanks to Hib for doing most of these, actually!
Enjoy!

Just got back... (had a couple of days in Warwickshire)
Thanks to Scott and Andy - it all seemed so much calmer than the last one! But then having the keys on time helps
I like the double-elimination, but it really does only work properly for 16, 32 (or 64!) entries. It might be possible to do 24 or 48, but that would probably involve 3-way first rounds (or finals!).
I got my first-ever certificate! 8) (Origami 2nd in minisumo)
Congrats to Josh (Best Engineered) and James (Best Driver) - look out guys, before long these youngsters are gonna whip ya!
Thanks again Scott and Andy

So what have you guys learned from this, and also, what went wrong with the various robots (Joacim in paticular). I know what went wrong with FIN's servo. Two simple words: Wrong socket ! I put the right wheel in Ch3 which is Baby Hell's weapon channel, and it was on ful whack and it didn't twig until later that that was the problem. All together now: D'OH!
Oh well, it happens. a few other things I've learnt from AWS 21:
1: Picos are only good in fleaweights
2: Shen Qi cars have very bad steering and torque, but good fun
3: Always take spare crystals (sorry for arsing you around Dave L and Scott for holding up the fights)
4: Sponge and Spinners don't mix well (Great to watch though Dave L )
5: Learning to drive is essential ! (Both robots and cars: I didn't get back home until 11:15pm on Saturday because of public transport !)
So what about you guys ?

Well, as you mentioned me, I'll tell you what went wrong.
Desire's leg mech didnt fit inside the shell! This is one of the problems if you build it the night before the event.
Flippt! were also build the night before the event, but I still dont know why it went so sluggish. Could have been th cables that tocuhed the wheels. I still dont know what happend to the drive. Could have been the speed hack that came loose.
Stuff to do next time I come to AWS:
1. Buy sanyo-copy motors for Flippt!
2. Make Desire into a roller

I learnt a few things:
1) Carboard is an underated material in ants (as is everything else I use)
2) Everyone loves a gimmick
3) Sponge is awesome
Nothing practicle about building "proper" robots though. The tape and scrap approach is as good as any of that "professional" stuff

I have updated my site with the AWS21 details and pictures:
www.antweight.co.uk
Normal rules, grab any pics of you own ant and upto 5 others with a link to antweight.co.uk
Let me know if anyone wants any high res pics. I know Dave wanted one of them, just let me know your email address.
Also let me know if I mucked anything up.

Lots of pics I want in there, Although I wish someone had taken a pic during my match with Dynamite, not after it went off (Oliver!). Anyone got one ?
BTW Oliver, you fixed the problems with Anteater and Gross Incompetance ?
BTW, its AWS 21, not AQS 21
Oh, dave, I totally agree, I love the card, scrap and tape approach, makes a great difference from all the Polycarb and Ti bots you see (Pete W and Andy Hib in paticular)
