I think 45mins might be a bit optimistic for the fleaweights Dan, unless you run it single elimination. The last one was about an hour and a half.
Might be worth keeping it til after the AWS as we have been doing, then the format can be changed to quicken it up if needs be. I think there will be more people at this one too from the responses I've heard.

Hmm, running the fleas and nanos simultaneously may well spread competitors in each class rather thin (assuming we have to choose one to compete in) as most people with Nanos also have fleas and so the numbers will be roughly halved; the Nano comps are already small as it is..

The nano comp can be run in a few minutes if we stick to the melee format. No need to run simultaneously then. And if time is tight fleas can be ran single elimination or in melee format too.

Yeah, I actually really enjoyed the melee format with the Nanos, so'd happily compete like that again. Would probably be over in about 20 mins too :L

Re: AWS 48, Basingstoke, 21st November 2015
Although the time is always tight at AWS it is partly because we don't start the main event until 11:00 to allow those who have long distances to travel to get there.
What I was thinking was maybe we could use that time for the flea and nano events so anyone wanting to take part in them would have to ensure they get there early. I have had 2.5 hour drives to the last 2 events and still made them both before 9:30.
The flea and nano drivers could organise them leaving the AWS oganisers free to do scutineering and draw for the main event and any part of the flea / nano events left unrun when the main event is ready to run could be held back to the end and run then.
