Most people haven't signed up yet! You can sign up pretty much as late as the day before and still be welcome.

What's the plan to incorporate the first nanoweight comp into this event Scott? There's loads of them now! A full comp? Series of mêlées? At what point during the day?

I'm not sure as of yet. I'll definitely be doing something nanoweight related, but what depends on how many we have and how long the other competitions take to complete. If there's not too many I'd like to run a full tournament, but it might not be feasible to do it as a completely separate event. Maybe they can run through their (relatively small number of) fights during the first rounds of the AWS, when a lot of people are waiting a while in between fights anyway, and then we'll run the top 3 before the AWS top 3.

In fact, I was thinking of doing this in general; keeping the top 3 of the fleas until the end as well. So running order would go something like;

FWS to top 3 (warmup tournament for non-FWS entries, one robot per team, running to completion alongside in a separate arena)
AWS to top 3 (with nanos running along side in a separate arena)
NWS top 3
FWS top 3
AWS top 3

I know this is different from how we normally do it, but I think it would give a great end to the day to have all the finals together.

Regarding nanos, I'm not sure we need a separate arena. Surely they'll be fine in Pete's arena (which we use for fleas)? I'd rather not be swapping arenas around if I can help it.

Sounds even more confusing to any stream-watchers or watchers of the video afterwards.

Also, may cause issues for people hoping to enter a robot into more than one category, if they make the top three but then get mashed in the AWS and have to forfeit the finals too.

I believe the nano arena sits inside the fleaweight one, so it doesn't take up any more room, just reduces the size to allow the silly things to hit each other.

i'm with Dave on the finals thing. lots of people run 2 botlet clusters consisting of two fleas and i know there was some talk of a 6 botlet cluster made up of 6 nanos. i know some fleas ( deffinitely not my one ) are robust enough to cope with at least one hit from an ant spinner but i doubt the same applies to nanos.
