AWS 42 ?

Post by limpet »

Any definite plans for AWS 42 yet?
I'm itching to run one and could manage mid-November onwards if anyone is interested?
It would be in Nuneaton.

Is AWS42, however you're welcome to snag AWS43 if you're interested, unless anyone else has already said they want to do it?

Ok I'll do 43 :-)

Have you got an exact date yet? I'm away for the first two Saturdays.

It's worth pointing out that if you want to run an event, it doesn't have to be an AWS. Although there hasn't been much in recent years, there was a time when there were multiple non-AWS competitions in a year, so if you're desperate to run something just find a date that isn't too close to anything else, come up with a snazzy name, and see whether people would be interested - I'm sure I would be!

I second that we could certainly do with more Antweight events.
We used to have three Reading Robot Clubs and several others every year and it is a more relaxed way to run your first event.

If people are up for more non-AWS events I could potentially host a few more RFRC's next year? Usually a very relaxed atmosphere as its not as full on as an AWS. The arena's are pretty knackered though. Did somebody end up with that assault course Simon was getting rid of a while back? That could be pretty useful.

I'm all for more events. Just a matter of allowing people enough time to fix their robots between them

We could potentially revive the Reading Robot Club in the original venue if there was demand for it.

The AWS will return to the venue used at AWS 40 (with some changes) but I would be happy to look into another event.

Ok no problem, is there a calendar or list somewhere with whats planned? It would help to know a few months in advance.

I would like to see RRC make a revival.
