KLM has reported not to schedule flights until 14:00 this afternoon, pending on the ash clouds movement.

There's more info here: http://www.ryanair.com/en/notices/gops/ ... AND_ASH-GB

It mentions: "All flights today to/from Belgium and Holland are cancelled until 17:00hrs", but also "All flights today to/from the UK are cancelled"

The flight that Peter, Dave and I are on isn't until tomorrow morning, so we might get lucky. It has a list below of all the cancelled flights, and there's nothing for tomorrow on there yet, however it does show today and yesterday's occurance of the flight being cancelled.

I know which page I'm spam-refreshing today.

I was just looking on the National Express Coach web site.
http://www.nationalexpress.com/coach/in ... medium=ppc
It appears you can get a coach from Victoria Bus Station at 22:00 today getting to eindhoven station 7:00 tomorrow and a return coach leaving eindhoven at 23:59 tomorrow arriving back at 7:45 Sunday morning for ?61 including ?3 for insurance.

Update from a few minutes ago: http://www.ryanair.com/en/news/ryanair- ... o-continue

"Ryanair, today (Fri 16th April) confirmed that based on current meteorological forecasts, and the continuing emission of volcanic ash into the atmosphere over Iceland, it has decided to cancel all scheduled flights to/from the UK, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Holland, Northern France, Northern Germany, Poland and the Baltic States until 1300hrs on Mon 19 April."

Damn.

I appreciate you looking for coaches Peter, but I'm really not willing to spend 16+ hours on coaches, never mind the time it would take to get from me to London in rush hour, and on top of that I don't even know if Dave would be able to get to London for 10pm since he's busy elsewhere today (I'll give him a ring in a minute to update him).

I'll keep you updated if any of the other sites are updated.

Hope everyone who does manage to get to the event has an excellent time, and best of luck to all of you.

Edit: Just spoke to Dave, both he and I won't be able to attend. This also means that you won't have the trophy there. We'll discuss after the event how I'm going to get it to the winner, depending on who wins :P.

I have decided not to go as I am not feeling to good and as you say that long in a coach would be a bit of an ordeal at the best of times. Sorry to the organisers and I hope you still have a good event and look forward to seeing the video. This will be the first AWS I have missed since I started at AWS3 and it looks like my plans for world domination will have to be put on hold for a while.

if i was told a week before that the AWS almost couldn't happen because of a vulcano eruption, i wouldn't have believed it.

The odds... :-?

Shame this has happened.
