AWS 72 - Ipswich - 29th September 2024

Post by razerdave »

Antweight World Series 72 - in collaboration with Extreme Robots!

Venue:
Summer isle films
Unit 6 liberator house
Clopton business park
Ip13 6qt

We’ve been kindly given a TV studio to host AWS 72 in exchange for our competition being streamed to Extreme Robots TV to help promote our weight class :). Plus as the 25th anniversary of the AWS, we wanted to make a big thing of it :).

Rules and regulations: Current AWS ruleset:
http://www.robotwars101.org/ants/rules.htm

There will be a cafe open on site for any lunch etc.

Timing:
8:00: venue open
9:00: tech checks open
10:30: tech checks close, fights should begin shortly after
1: 20 mins lunch break, fights resume until we’re done.

Transport: Because the venue is a 20 mins drive from Ipswich city centre, if there are any volunteers to help pick up people from public transport locations, please drop me a message here, on Facebook or in person.

This event will be filmed for Extreme Robots TV, so we would actively encourage talking to the cameras about your robots, how fights have gone, etc.

On the Saturday before (28th September), there will be a Beetleweight event at University of East Anglia, so if you’re in the Beetle class, make a weekend of it!

Hey all!
First trailer for AWS 72 dropped on Extreme Robots socials:

The next AWS is still not set due to venue issues, but info will be posted here as and when it becomes available.

In the meantime, since this forum is really quiet, the Committee has created an AWS Facebook page:

See you all at the next one!
