There are wheels you can buy to attach directly to drill motors. You'd be wanting the ones with nut inserts.

I would just use screws/bolts to hold it together

screw it together, i do that and it holds up well to be in tossed around by shwxplosion :P

I plan on doing as much research on shwxplosion and building my featherweight to specifically exploit its weakness ( if it has one that is )
and if we ever fight shwxplosion at the same time we should both team up on him and take him out first

I have another question, where would I get the safety link for a featherweight and how would I wire in failsafes, a safety link, and a power light ?

the removable link is just something you can plug in to turn the robot on, i have used deans and andersons, i like them both, deans are probably easyest and smallest.
if you have decent radio gear (DX5e) then it should failsafe automaiticly, giant cod does too if the rx is bound in neutral.
pretty simple to wire it up, think of pluggin the link in as completling the cirucit, have a extra bright led and a 24v resister wired in line and your set
