Cheap gear motors and Pololu wheels

Post by AntRoboteer »

I'm not sure they would be of any use to anyone but I stumbled across these 50:1 gear motors for £5 each from the UK:
http://shop.pimoroni.com/products/micro ... armotor-mp
They say they are 50:1 but have a speed of 420rpm and a stall current of 700mA. I therefore believe that these are Pololu 50:1 MP motors for a very decent price.
I believe they are these motors:

There are also quite cheap (I think) wheels as well. Just check out this link for the full range:

I hope this has been useful!

I found these on ebay I have used the 30:1 motors in my new Defiant and though reasonably quick (830 rpm at 7V) seem quite controllable.

If you want more speed they do 20:1 (1230 rpm at 7V) and 20:1 HP (1500 rpm at 6V).
They do have a shallow grove across the shaft but it has no real effect for our use.
They come out at £4 each or £3 each if you buy 10 with £2.25 delivery and they are in this country with a fast delivery.

Good spot Pete. Are the HP ones actual HPs? If so that'd be awesome given the price.

Noticed that Hobbyking's also started selling gear motors for £2.50, including a 10:1 version, all which should be next day shipping, albeit at HK rates

I was looking to get some cheap gear motors and noticed that the hobbyking ones are now £4.10 plus postage but I found these on ebay.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC3V-6V-12V-N ... 2749.l2649
I went for the 300rpm at 6v which a £2.46 and free postage seem good value.
I bought 10 and they took only 19 days to arrive from Hong Kong.
I just checked the speed in both directions on all ten and the highest was 296 and the lowest 285 which is very consistent.
They have a stall current of about 500 ma.

I was searching for plastic spur gears and found these gears with a D slot built into them. I thought they were interesting:
