You beat me Andy I just about have the layout done but need to produce one of my other controllers first so it will probably a couple more days yet.

I use these in the new Anto, they are now compatible with surface transmitters (just like mine!)

I contacted David and he was amazing to help me out

My scales are cheap and probably wrong but it doesn't even read 0.1g even with the extra fet which I'm going to use to fire my solenoid valve. now to design a stupidly small cradle to go with it. Craig did you say you don't run ariels on your receivers? does that include this one?

I have finished the controller layout and partially built the board.
The regulator and decoupling capacitors are all in place and the processor is programmed.
It all seems to work once you get the receiver to bind but that isn't very easy.
At first I tried binding to one of the small cheap blade transmitters with no success.
I then tried a DX6i which also failed. The receiver was seeing the signal and trying to bind but never completed.
I then resorted to the instructions which suggested moving the transmitter nearer or further away.
With the DX6i held right under the bench about 3 feet away it bound correctly.
I then tried the blade transmitter in the same position and the receiver didn't respond at all.
Finally with the blade transmitter at about 2 feet and partly under the bench it bound.
The DX5e bound in the same position as the DX6i.
It is not a big problem as binding is something you do only once but I did notice if you put the DX6i within inches of the receiver the light went out but recovered if you moved it away so it does suggest the range of signals is not as good as other receivers.

A bit off topic here, has anyone ever tried any of the cheap hk receivers with spektrum surface radios?

I don't quite get this. Are these receivers capable of running a single drive motor?

They run a single fet so it's a single direction for the motor.

Controller is up and running just need to do some more testing.
Without wires it is 26.5 x 24.25 x 10 mm and 3.7 gms.
