Re: Peter Waller Nano Adventures
I think those little brushless might be a little tricky to use in an undercutter effectively; Nibble's hits almost send it out the arena and that blade's probably doing a tenth of the speed.. I really want to see if someone can manage to make a ducted fan Nano. I'm pretty sure it's possible, just tricky to keep in weight :L

Nibble seems to be a most apt name when you look at the side of TEN TO THE MINUS NINE,s scoop in the picture above,
Re: Peter Waller Nano Adventures
Yeah, it does feel like just a little more speed is needed in the blade as all it does is nibble things atm, however it was throwing itself around a lot already, so can't see running it faster would improve that all too much :L Spini works well as the force from big hits are put straight into the floor rather than the robot, though it lacks bite for some reason. I'm quite tempted to rebuild Spini as something completely mad, but will probably just end up swapping the drive servos for a mini drive unit..

Re: Peter Waller Nano Adventures
Just finished the redesign of ONE BILLION U.S. STYLE and apart from the fact the plade has to be very short to fit between the wheels it works quite well.
Here are a couple of shots from above and below plus as a Pink fan a family portrait.
Here is the spinner running.

An here the robot driving.

Re: Peter Waller Nano Adventures
wow. it amazes me what you can fit into 25g
Re: Peter Waller Nano Adventures
Yeah, i'm very impressed you got all that in weight; It puts nibble to shame! I know I say this a lot about your robots, but they're some of the few that properly scare me

Re: Peter Waller Nano Adventures
I decided to remake the blade carrier in fibreglass to prevent a repeat of it breaking.
Here it is in 6mm thick glass sheet which has enabled me to reduce the diameter of the hub to make the blade stick out more.
The extra 1.5 gms it weighs brings it nicely to 24.9 gms overall and should give it a bit more bite.

Re: Peter Waller Nano Adventures
TEN TO THE MINUS NINE is now sprorting a 0.75mm polycarb scoop with wrap around sides to try and avoid the sort of damage Nibble inflicted.
Just noticed its only 19.1 gms so I might try adding some balast if I can do it without upseting the self righting ability.

Re: Peter Waller Nano Adventures
Added almost 6 gms of brass to the bottom which improved the self righting and grip.
Here it is in action no suprise that with my driving it took 4 attempts to get it right.
