Planned downtime

Post by petec »

To all forum and website users:

I've just signed up for a new contract for the web hosting which means that at some time in the next couple of weeks I will be transferring the website over.

It is possible that at some stage the domain name (robotwars101.org) will point to the wrong server at the wrong time. I shall try to prevent this by using the other domains (robotwars101.co.uk and antweights.com) as alternative routes.

Additionally, I shall be taking the opportunity to upgrade the forum - I will notify the dates for this shortly.

The benefits of this move are huge - unlimited capacity, multiple websites and additional tools to build a better environment for the future.

Thank you for your patience during this transition.

Please note, the main website is now down and will stay down until after the main domain has moved.

I plan to move the discussion forum within the next 24 hours.

Welcome back everyone! :D

I'm very relieved to be able to say the forum is back online. You would not believe how difficult this has been.

Please note that the search won't work properly at the moment - but I'm too tired to do that tonight. Also, private messages have had to be wiped. I may be able to restore them later but they caused real problems.

And note the new address robotwars101.org/forum/

I hope you like the new features.

The forum has been upgraded to the latest version. Apologies for the downtime but a problem elsewhere forced me to reinstall everything. Should find this version works better on mobiles though. :D

Is there an option to apply a different skin again? I've had this forum on a skin (can't remember its name) that made it look similar to the old forum but I can't seem to find this option in any of the user settings anymore. Thanks.

Skins/styles/themes are back!

Click on your username in the top left corner of any page. Select "User Control Panel" from the drop-down.

Go to the "Board Preferences" tab, select "Edit global settings" from the list on the left.

Change "My board style" to what you want. AllenStyle-SUBSILVER is similar to the old SubSilver style. Elegence is a new style in a variety of colour options. Prosilver is the default (actually blue, not silver) style.

The old style wasn't supported any more so I've given you a few options instead.
