Wii or PS3, or Xbox 360?

Wanna talk about something other than robots? Really?? Can't understand it myself, but if you really want to, do it here....normal rules apply though!!

Wii or PS3, or Xbox 360?

Post by olivers »

I am quite happy to say that I will get the Nintendo Wii come 8th Dec with Zelda and Red Steel.

Is anyone else going to get the Wii or go for the PS3. Is anyone unfortunate enough to have brought the Xbox 360?

I will undoubtably be getting a PS3 when they come out. Well, maybe not on release, as they will be silly money. I'm giving the Wii a wide berth. Although I'm sure the latest Zelda will be great. I've been tempted by the XB360, but i never really liked the first one.

PC games are keeping me so entertained these days there's not much call for consoles....

Same here, quite a lot of the games for the Xbox 360 are pants, the PS3 never has interested me, but the Wii would be the one I would buy if I was going to get any of them. I have the original Xbox + Xbox Live so what with Doom 3 (brilliant) and Halo 2 (OK) to play plus my many PC games (all great!) I'm sorted already. As for the high definition games everyone is going on about - is that not what PCs have had for, er, ever? I don't understand what all the fuss is about, but maybe I have missed something.

Perhaps I might buy the 360 when some decent games come out and Microsoft sorts out all the problems with it. The problems I find with consoles are that they are very limited in what they can do for the price. I'd rather get a another decent PC over a 360 or PS3 to be honest.

By the way, how much is the PS3 going to cost? They aren't really expecting people to pay is it ?400 or ?500 for a box that you can play games on? I personally don't think it even has a decent controller, but maybe thats just me with my mouse and keyboard...

Well, Nintendo have finally won me over. The deposit has gone down on the Wii, and I'm just waiting for stock now.

Coincidentally, I too am getting it with Zelda and Red Steel, and obvioulsy Wii Sports. Can't wait!

I am still ploding on with the PS2. Had Kill Zone and Band of Brothers for christmas and have finished both. Nothing like a bit of mindless violence in between robot fights.

I'd still prefer my PC over any console. But if it had to be a console, it would be the PS3.

I like the idea of the PS3, but for the ?600 ish i could buy a computer that could do so much more. The Wii looks like fun, proberly wouldn't buy one but would play one if i had the opertunity. My gf's housemate is doing a year with microsoft so she bought an xbox 360, not bad and enjoy playing it. However i have been converted to playing PC games.(looking forward to c&c 3)

I also prefer PC gaming over most console games. Those of you that know me know I have a semi-addiction to World of Wacraft. The expansion was released last week, and I took the week off work and on the first day played for 26 and a half hours solid. People may call me sad, or crazy, or a no lifer, but it's my passion, so I really don't care :P

I did give WoW a bash, but didn't enjoy it so much. It was ok, but I found it a little repetetive. Can't wait for C&C 3 though.

Even though I'm getting a Wii, I'm sure I'll end up with a PS3, even if it's just for Gran Turismo 5.
