OK...
This is now getting silly!
I have attached all of the electronics from my dx6i onto a carbon facia...
And made an aluminium chassis, which I have used to practise my fusion welding skills...
I have put an EL panel behind the display, added a new illuminated power switch, and bought some 3 way toggle switches to replace the trim buttons,I have also incorporated a key switch to isolate the battery, and re shaped the menu switch into a clickable knob arrangement.I have also moved the th cut switch to the top lhs corner. I still need to make a backplate to the whole thing, but this is what I have so far. It is about half the height of the original TX,and is 30cm wide, including the handles.
Cheers Jim.

Do you still think you shouldn't have started it?
I certainly wouldn't!
I certainly wouldn't!

Re: Ever started something you wish you hadn't??
Thanks.
It is taking WAY longer than I ever intended, and it is fairly heavy, especially as the piece for the backplate is a "borrowed" panel from a steel comms cabinet!
But I do quite like it. And it is comfortable. It feels nice and solid.
I have some extra wide thumb sticks on their way for it too.
My time would have been much better spent building robots though!!!

It's like the next step on from Rob Knight from the Mortis team and his crazy backpack hands-free device.

This might be the best thing ever! It's like a cross between an iPhone and a fighter jet cockpit.

Re: Ever started something you wish you hadn't??
LOL. It may be a little OTT.
But what the hey!
I did a bit of research, and liked the look of the new Jeti TX THATS COMING OUT LATER IN THE YEAR...
And I found some industrial TX's that are used to control cranes etc,and I liked the layout, and the handles...
So I tried to combine the looks of the first, but with the layout and handles of the second...
I quite like it,so far.
