Wanna talk about something other than robots? Really?? Can't understand it myself, but if you really want to, do it here....normal rules apply though!!

MacGyver

Post by Andrew_Hibberd »

After getting home from work today I found the dead bolt had been put on the front door before a housemate left out of the back door. As I only had a front door key I found myself in the terrible situation of being locked out.

So my question to you, are you able to use your MacGyver skills to get into your locked house on a typical day?

I have now locked the windows in the kitchen after being able to unlock the back door 4m away from the window using a long rod from the garden, a tent peg some old masking tape and a couple of paper clips.

Fun times!

i was once in a very similar situation. i decided to nip round to my shed and get a junior hacksaw. i then put the hacksaw and my wrist through the letterbox and was able to slide the lock open :D

i used to use the classic method of pushing the key out from the other side onto a pice of paper and sliding it out through the crack at the bottom, unfortunately we now have a draft excluder

i now carry a spare set of keys as its a common occurrence

I'm stuck when I get locked out ;P I usually sit outside the house for around ten minutes, feeling very sorry for myself and usually resembling a forlorn, melancholy, and slightly wet rat whose mate has recently departed, and then I pick myself up and wander down to Subway.
