What transmitters are the favourite now?
I`ve been asked to put a list of parts together for someone want to get into the hobby but am struggling to suggest a transmitter,
I`m looking for suggestions as to an easy to setup one, no good having to flash or modify something as I`d struggle with that too
I`m assuming DSMX is the most popular?
Thanks

Re: What transmitters are the favourite now?
Looking around at the last event or two, I'd say that the FS-i6 or other AFHDS2A (Turnigy / Flysky) transmitters seem very popular nowadays, that's probably because they're cheap and reliable.

Shows I`m really out of touch with transmitters! I just don`t have the need to change from Spektrums.
Thanks I`ll suggest that type.

flysky fs-i6
works perfectly out of the box.
has a compatible rx (fs-2a) which weighs less than 1g
and is really simple to set up

Re: What transmitters are the favourite now?
I would love to see your list! I would find it really helpful myself. Would you be willing to publish it here on the forum?
I went with Kyro's suggestion of the Flysky FS i6 as best intro, best bang for the buck, best bang for the buck mods, really I can't find anything to beat it for the price.
I'm also getting a Jumper T16 which is a big price jump ($160 plus shipping) but is supposed to be better than a lot of $340+ transmitters. Most likely way over the top for ants, but it binds so many cheap rx (multiprotocol) that I've seen people talk about here plus ergonomics and great gimbals made me want to check it out and I can just buy a cheap quad copter to play with.
Anyway I bought 4 of the flysky FS i6 for my family and the jumper gimbals to do the upgrades.

I keep thinking about this and how it would be a great to have this list, even if it needs to be updated frequently.limpet wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 9:22 pm I`ve been asked to put a list of parts together for someone want to get into the hobby but am struggling to suggest a transmitter,

I also wanted to ask what transmitter mods people do commonly. Like do people commonly replace the ends of the sticks with something else that gives better handling?
Rather than battery or gimbal mods which are likely more based around which specific transmitter one has.
Re: What transmitters are the favourite now?
To throw in another option, I know of a few people (myself included) who use the OrangeRX transmitters which in the UK at least is DSMX only I believe. International versions also support DSM2.

Re: What transmitters are the favourite now?
A really simple mod that I do on my FS-i6's ..
Unscrew the alloy ends on the sticks, then screw them back on reversed so that the sharp "spikey" ends are not digging into your thumbs or fingers.
BTW, the FS-i6 is the defacto standard in our local scene.
Mike.

Works on the Turnigy Evolution too (which is largely the same)
Makes perfect sense.
