Attending Events?

Post by Shakey »

Is there anything important required for attending events or anything important you must do?

Just want to check so I don't end up turning up to anywhere and being turned away from the fighting.

We never turn anyone away :) Sometimes you are asked to pay a small fee towards the hire of the room/hall, but you won't get kicked out if you havn't got the correct amount of money :P

The only thing that may deny you to fight in the arena with your antweight is that it dosen't follow the building rules e.g Fit in 4" cube, 150g, failsafe and etc.

At some more laid back competitions this isn't enforced however unless the robot in question is significantly too large or heavy.

BTW I'm going to weight and measure all the robots at RRC21, not to disqualify anyone, but to draw to their attention if their robots are overweight or oversize, for an AWS.

And if anyone else wants to build a four inch cube then they're most welcome. Mine is accurate, despite many accusations that it's too small!

1. Read the rules.
2. Read the event details.
3. Sign up if the event organiser has asked everyone to.
4. Bring the following:
Yourself
Your robot
Transmitter
Spare batteries
Charger
Tools
Spare parts
A few quid towards the room hire
Lunch (if you're travelling any distance it will be an all day exercise!)
Good humour
Friendly smile! :)

We are all friendly and welcoming and I don't think we've thrown anyone out yet. (At least, not on the first visit! )
