(Re)build report - Desire

Post by Flippt »

As you at AWS20 remember, Desire went flying by Mutant :P
But Desire will be back for AWS21 and see how its done and what changes it may have to do.

Parts thats need redoing:

Base
On one part of the base, where the batterypack sits, a bit of lexan was glued vertical in place in a hurry. During the "explosion", the glue broke.
Now the battery holder is gonna be bend from the base, instead of glued.

Image

Drive
Same servos, only speed hacked.

At AWS20, Desire took too large steps. New cams are made from nylon.

Stay tuned, more news to come :D

I had a quick idea about the cam and made a double :D, so Desire got 4 legs now.

But as you may have read by my previous posts, one of the servo boards blow up.

looks nice joacim, i would also add some little bits of lexan to stop the legs turning over into the disc, as that stopped you being able to move or spin the disc after your first hit at aws20. I have to say though it did look impressive until the leg stopped the disc. Looking forward to next seeing it.

That is so cool. Love the concept. Just never leave it standing on a hotel desk, people start to ring it. :)
Best regards,
