Its supported at the other end by a bearing, you underestimate the strength of aluminium theres no way it would bend

I have made a start on a flipper mechanism for a new antweight. So far I am trying to use a couple of S136L servo's to drive it so Dominant is no more or maybe it will be reborn.

Just re-read my last post and it was not very clear. The servo's are the old ones that drove defiant with the speed mod removed. They are being used to power the flipper and I shall be using the usual motor gearboxes for drive if I can get it all under the weight limit.

I have made some progress with the flipper see pictures below.

The flipper arm is is mounted on ballraces between the servo arms so it can move independently of the servos. Two pins one from each servo push the arm down into the lower position against the pull of the elastic bands. I now need a latch system to hold it in that position until the servo has returned to the up position which will then release it. At the moment the elastic bands give 1 Kg of force at the end of the 78mm arm and the two servo's which give 8Kgcm each at 6v are more than adequate to reload it at 7.5v. The size and weight look as though they may give me a few problems.

If you can get it in size and weight, you'll chuck 'em out from anywhere. But what would happen if you miss them and fire it without a load?

Probably a reverse flip out of the arena but I am used to going out under my own steam.

The clues are in the words David.
Two pins one from each servo push the arm down into the lower position against the pull of the elastic bands
I shall be using the usual motor gearboxes for drive if I can get it all under the weight limit
You are far to young to be having senior moments they are best left to me.
