malivoirec wrote:After about two years of A-levels and starting Uni, I have finally found time to build/finish some of my ants. This includes a new one which uses pneumatics, pics will come soon. The only problem is the shape of the robot, as no matter how I design the body, it always looks just like the old Anticide. I think I have got one now, but with all the black HDPE I am using it is starting to look like a micro Hannibalito.
You make it sounds like thats a bad thing.

It isnt, I just want to make a robot that does'nt seem like I have copied another design.

R.I.P parralax. I have retired him and dismantled him. I know this isn't a new robot announcement as the discussion says, but I'm using his parts to make a fairly nippy walker bot who's name is to be decided, so from the ashes of a masterpiece rises the pheonix. (not that parralax was much of a masterpiece) :D

Weighed the parts, then glued two layers of the chassis together, then glued the carbon fibre base on. Bolted it together with servo bolts.

I don't actually use a gyro for the melty brain system, I use an accelerometer. Pretty much just set the accelerometer up at a known radius, and can then calculate the rotational rpm from the amount of G's the accelerometer sees.

Dredger. Looks very nice. It weighs in at 146grams. He will also compete at the AWS.
