Looks great! The MG90s or Turnigy TGY90S are dimensionally the same as your flipper servo and they have metal gears plus a little more power (I think) so that is an option if you find the flipper struggling, though I imagine that servo will be ok for a front mounted flipper.

For the two flippers I had at the last AWS I cut the hinge from a DVD case, though I'm not sure how you'd fit it exactly on a front hinged flipper, but just a thought.

Ask Joey :). The hinge on jigsaw is from the spine of an old VHS tape box!

VHS boxes are really useful :) the material on them is either polypropylene or, for older black ones, some sort of HDPE-esque material which works very well and is quite impact resistant, and the hinges tend to be very robust (although the polypropylene can crack around holes). You can probably armour two or three antweights for next to nothing by going to a charity shop, heh XD

The hinge on Jigsaw fits because the wedge extends for about 10-20mm beyond the lower limit of the flipper arm, and it's just bolted to the 0.9mm Ti shell - I've attached a bad picture of the underside which hopefully shows it (you might be able to bend the hinge back and bolt the lower half to the base too, but I find the shell easier).

I have to say it looks really good, a lot better protected than Jigsaw ever has been :)

Thanks everyone for your advise.

The Competition ended last week. There were some good ideas on there but the name I have gone for is . . .

TiNY

The runnerup was S.P.A.M. (Super Pit Aviodance Machine)

I'll upload a picture to the database soon. It's first appearance will be at Brighton Model World. That way i can get it tested against other robots in a non competitive way ( and get it back in one piece!), then i can make ajustments and modifications in time for AWS 37. :)
