Team Yr Morgrug - Builds n stuff
Rather than hi-jack other threads, I thought this was a better way of doing, so...
It started with Morgrugyn
Not bad for a first try, but with loads of room for improvement. Pressure for "one that is just like that but better" has led to Morgyn II. This has been produced as a 'kit' that can be built by a 9 yr old.
Kit List:
Giant Cod Tx
A box to carry it in
2x50:1 HP motors (with loom to jst)
Polycarbonate base (2mm)
Polycarbonate body (1.5mm)
Park HPXF servo
Flipper mount - Polycarbonate with power switch
Pin Hinge & flipper link
Flipper (2 parts)
Battery box/ESC mount polycarbonate
Hyperion 7.4v 2 cell lipo
Mr Waller Rx/ESC with jst connectors
Nuts and bolts to suit.
Just realised that I forgot to put the pololu wheels in the picture
Biggest challenge was getting inside the weight with the extra connectors and bolts. 2 sets of scales say we are ok - time will tell. The official build starts in 2 days!

Looks really good Paul possibly even too good - if you needed to lose weight you could survive in the arena with less than 1.5mm polycarb on the shell, but if it's on the limit on the scales then it's on the limit on the scales ^^

So here goes the build...
First the flipper and support are fitted.
Then the flipper on its mount together with servo and loom for the power switch and flashing led.
Then the assembly mounts on the base
You can see some blue where the assembly mounted to the base, that is locktite from the mounting bolts.
What I Learned Today: Don't get locktite on Polycarbonate! The polycarbonate turns to breadcrumbs and cracks

OK so after remaking another base and flipper mount and getting back to where it all went pear shaped...
The motors and battery box are mounted and we are ready to test it all works.
You can see the flipper mount is now actually 'improved' to reduce twist.
All was well, so tidy everything up, and we are ready for the body.
IT'S ALIVE.... Morgrugyn 2 is finished.
The big worry was weight, but carefull pruning of bolts and stuff ended up with loads to spare.

It is indeed, it looks wonderful and I hope its performance lives up to its appearance
(do the wheels protrude ever so slightly past the back panel? From the angle of the photos it's hard to tell)
