Nice CAD - it reminds me of a certain robot for some reason :P is there any reason why the front end lifts up with the flipper as well? I'd have thought that'd be at risk of grounding you or making it difficult to drive with the flipper up.

I got some M2 screws and nuts from Technobots, don't know if they'd be of use. I also found some M2 countersunk ones at a model fair in Harrogate so those sorts of places might be good to check (it was a real hunt to find them though, almost all the fixings for sale were BA or imperial)

I get mine from http://www.modelfixings.co.uk/machine_screws.htm - but I see that they don't do 1.6 any more

If the 1.6mm ones are for mounting the motor gearboxes I can let you have enough for your robot, they are 3 mm long posi csk. I also have verious m2 screws if you let me know the size I can see what I can find.

Thanks everyone.

I think my school has m2 screws so I'll ask very nicely if I can have some :D

@ Peter: The m1.6 screws are for motors. Is there's any way I could buy 4 from you and pick them up from you tommorow because I'm in Aylesbury to have my robot milled. If not, don't worry I can order some from the link. Thanks in advance.

@ Joey: The flipper lifts the front so I can put the hinge very close to the edge so the other robot doesn't have to be so far up my robot. Also, I drew a line from the front of the raised flipper to the wheel and it doesn't ground me out.

That is no problem I should be around most of the day except 9:00 to 9:30 and 11:30 to 12:00 when I take and pickup my grandaughter from pre_school. I will PM you my address and perhaps you could give me a ring when you know roughly what time.

Technobots parts arrived today :D

Unfortunately, still no chassis due to missing software on the milling machine :(

If you can get everything in the linkage attached more securely and possibly extend the travel a bit, I'd stick with it - although having said that it's occurred to me that SEII looks more than a bit like Anticide, which works alright with a rear hinge flipper :P

Whichever weapon you go for I'd increase the voltage of the flipper servo, if you could get it to run on full 2 cell lipo voltage rather than the regulated 5v from the reciever it'd increase the speed and power of it to something quite impressive.

I think I need to try to remove the servo slower from channel 5 on my transmitter so it gives more speed to the servo. That plus the servo running on full voltage from a lipo should make the weapon more effective.

The problem was that two of the connected bars in the flipper linkage started out parallel when the flipper was fully down so it got stuck. That needs to be sorted on the next version.
