I would definitely be interested in the HP model. I only ever use 3 cells, and that board looks to be not much bigger than a single Fingertech TinyESC, which would be perfect for most applications. Are also considering looking at having models with recievers mounted directly to the board?

Depends how much current a beetleweight motor takes. As long as it's less than 3.5A continuous then it might be ok. I would have to do some more testing for that.
And I'm not currently looking at selling it with a receiver, though it would be easy enough to do..

After some further testing on the HP boards, the drive works fine up to 16v now. I just need some noise suppression on the signal side, as a little noise is coupling through to the servo lines causing the pic to take false readings and the motors to jump occasionally when running. A new 1nF caps and resistors should sort that, along with some tweaks to the layout. The only problem is the board may have to grow by up to 5mm in length to accommodate a 100uF 16v cap on the power lines; anything less and it's not happy.

As far as the regular NanoTwos are concerned, they seem to be working nicely with the Pololu HP motors. I tried the normal version in Accelerant, and a stacked chip version (2 driver chips for each side) in Stanley; If they can survive that they can survive most things! :L The servo in Accelerant is a beast, and the voltage reg runs that fine at 6V with only a 10uF cap on the line. I need to run extended testing to check that performance doesn't decline after a few fights, but I tried flailing the sticks wildly for quite a while with Stanley, and the chips only got slightly warm. All round, looking pretty good so far :)

I'm also planning to have on board signal mixing as an option rather than a feature; it's only two lines of code to change between the two, and the mixing on a transmitter allows for a more precise setup, so some people might want it.

Here's a video of some of the testing today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wW33Ph ... e=youtu.be

Update time!

So the boards were printed and shipped here within a week, which was a lot faster than expected! All the parts for (relatively) large scale production have been bought, and now I'm just waiting for some free time to start work on the boards. I've managed to put together one low voltage and one high voltage board, just to test them. They both work fine as far as my testing has gone so far.

I'm all set up to start shipping as soon as I get some more boards together. The first time I'll be free to make any is after the 15th, so I'm planning to start taking orders shortly after that. (Though if you're going to the Robot Wars fight in Guildford on the 15th then I may have one or two ready to sell there.. no guarantees though..)

Here's what the new ones look like (high voltage one's on top):

I've also put together a data sheet for these things; let me know if you spot anything obviously wrong or have any questions. I plan to update bits of it once I've completed more rigorous testing.

Absolutely fantastic. I had a read through the data sheet and they seem perfect. You've even addressed my one bugbear with the TinyESCs, which is that they can be difficult to solder to, by making nice big solder pads.

I'm probably going to look at sticking an RX31 to the back of the board for an incredibly compact overall package.

Can't wait to get my hands on them!

Cheers! Yeah the nice big solder pads are so that I can solder them up without pulling my hair out..

They make quite a nice little package when directly wired to an Rx. I fitted one to a LemonRx and put it in Lionel; there's a lot of empty space in Lionel now!

Image

I have considered buying a load of Lemon Rx's and selling them pre-soldered (obviously with neater packaging  ), but I don't think I'll do that just yet; need to sell some first to cover the costs of buying all the parts I've already got before I start buying any more :P

For now I may just do an option with short lengths of wire instead of servo leads for people who want it; Saves you some soldering and saves me some servo leads!

It's currently:

£20 for the N2LV (Low voltage)
£25 for the N2LVHP (Low Voltage High Power)
£25 for the N2HV (High Voltage)

They went up a little bit from my original estimate due to me forgetting some of the parts when I was working out the price from the bill of materials, and also they take a fair bit longer to put together than I'd expected. I don't expect them to change again though, at least not in the near future.

It's gonna be around £2 for shipping; need to find out how much they charge me for it at the post office, should only be large letter though.

Ok, Exams are over and production has begun!
Put the first 10 boards together yesterday, aiming to put some more together today.

So orders are officially open!

If you would like one, please email your list of options to: rapidrory@gmail.com
I will get back to you to confirm your order, after which you'll need to send the required amount via PayPal to the address above before I can ship it. It'll run on a first come first serve basis, and depends on what components I have in stock/ how much free time I have as to how fast I can ship it. Therefore I can't give a fixed timescale, though I'll try and give an estimate of how long it'll take in the order confirmation.
Alternatively I can take cash in person at the next AWS if you want to collect it there, although you'll still have to email me your options in advance.

Options:
  • . Low current (N2LV), High current (N2LVHP),or High voltage (N2HV)
. Onboard signal mixing or no signal mixing.
. Servo connectors on signal input or Rx power or loose wires for soldering
. 6V and signal connections to receiver or signal only.
. JST battery connector or loose wires for soldering.
. Shipping or collection at next AWS
If you have any particular requirements, ask in the email to check if it’s possible.
If you can, let me know what motors, servos, receivers etc you plan to use with it, and I can check your setup will work correctly before I ship it.

Prices:
  • £20 for the N2LV (Low voltage)
£25 for the N2LVHP (Low Voltage High Power)
£25 for the N2HV (High Voltage)
    £2 for shipping
Email me or check the datasheet or if you have any questions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19oF ... sp=sharing

I can attempt to repair any reasonable damage free of charge as long as the boards have been used under the recommended operating conditions (see datasheet) and as long as the heat shrink around the board hasn't been removed which'll void the warranty. I won't pay for the shipping to me for repairs though.
If the warranty has been void, I can still attempt to repair it, although you may have to cover the cost of components/ postage.

This is the first time I've done anything like this, so a few things may change around a bit at first, but hopefully nothing too major.

I'm combining my NanoTwo ESC's with a LemonRX and heatshrinking them together to make one nice small package :D

This is a N2 LVHP with lemonRX
