That's the old, bodged job. I've remade it. It's much better now. I 'll put it on facebook and link it.

I am hoping to build a robt sometime soon. I think the name Tyrant is good but im not sure if its taken. I will start building my robot whne i have enough money. Hopefully that will be some time soon. Please tell me if Tyrant has already been taken. :)

Tyrant doesn't ring any bells with me but then I cant always remember the names of my own robots.
I have just started a redesign of Anticyclone. One of the problems with many of my spinners is that they are so powerful they have become unstable due to gyro effects and lack of grip. Some time ago I designed a horizontal spinner where the axis of the spinner was directly between the wheels. This meant that most of the weight is over the wheels giving better grip and turning was around the spinner axis which eliminates many of the gyro effects. The main problem was that the impacts of the spinner tended to strip the drive gears on the servo so I am now trying again with the Pololu gearmotors.
As you can see when inverted the disc is sloping so will probably be less stable.

I'm really liking the looks of that Pete, can't say there looks much difference either way up, stability wise.

Hope to see it in production soon

BTW, whilst I'm here, what motor do you use in your ants for spinners, you use the same motor for each one ?

Lookes very nice indeed. Another advantage of that design is that the weapon can hit you both on the front and back of the bot, making it harder to push.

Dave
The right way up the spinner axis is vertical so turning is exactly around the motor axis. Inverted the the axis is at about 30 degrees off the vertical so the gyro effects start to resist the turn and try to tip the robot as seen in Variant.
The motors were some thing like Air Power and I used to get them from SMC but I think they have been discontinued. I have about 5 and keep repairing and recycling them but I must find a replacement soon.

You were not supposed to notice that.
