Re: Earthwormjim's Stuff
Well if you're lucky I may, MAY have the prototype heavy duty version of the NanoTwo up and running by the AWS (3A/channel, 18v max, 13mmx13mm), though I only designed it about 2 hours ago :L All the parts are arriving tomorrow, and hopefully I can persuade the uni to print my boards asap; I want to...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
No, I'm using a different chip; I have one that I'm using for testing atm, although just ordered 50 more :P They seem to be pretty robust from the tests that I've done, though i plan to do some more rigorous tests soon (*EDIT* just been running both Tinny's motors in parallel off the one driver chip...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
Ok, got the second prototype up and running now without too much trouble; at least I now know it's repeatable :L BTW, If I were to build another controller with only 1.2A continuous per channel (2.5A peak) at a max of 10V, do you think that'd have enough headroom to run a 2WD 2 cell ant reliably? I ...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
Yeah ok that all sounds far too much like hard work :L I only ask really as a friend is looking to sell one of his projects (nothing to do with robots :L) and hadn't looked into the legalities till i mentioned it.. Plus if it wasn't a problem then I might have stuck a few of my boards on there just ...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
They'll probably be selling for somewhere around £30, which i know isn't remarkably cheap, but they're not the quickest or easiest things to build :L The boards are currently 21x21x6mm, although that may change slightly as there's a few routing errors in the prototypes, which when fixed may change t...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
Yeah, when I originally found and bought the chip i didn't realize that it'd need all the extra hardware untill i put one in a test rig on breadboard :L I've since found some servo driver chips of the same size, but with all the required logic in them. They were only 1.8A output, but that should be ...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
I've got the fet buffers, also need CMOS hex inverter chip on there as you need some protection logic on the high voltage side... It would have made design and construction much easier however if it were all in one chip :L Well I haven't managed to get them to heat up significantly yet, though that ...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
It would hardly stay secret very long if i start selling them! They're a nightmare to use; I probably wouldn't have used them if i'd realized how much supporting hardware they needed...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
It's only a 8 pin PIC chip with 6 I/O: 2 for servo signal input, and 4 for PWM signals to motor driver chips.. No spare pins there i'm afraid. But if I did a mixed and non mixed version, It's unlikely that you'd need to be able to switch between the two settings as most people have either a transmit...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
I theoretically could make it compatible, but not with out a pretty fundamental change to the firmware... It's taken me a month of coding so far to get this version working so unless i'm feeling particularly bored one day, there probably won't be a compatible version :L Yeah, I was thinking of havin...
