What Shores? (for Beetle tyres)
I've started work on our first Beetleweight (a bog-standard 4WD pusher) in the hope of having at least one bot ready for the Uni of Greenwich bash in March. All going well so far but just a bit stuck on the wheels. I'm printing my own hubs (using Polymax PC) and would appreciate some advice on Shore...

Re: University of Greenwich - Medway, 28/29 March
If someone does manage to organize an antweight arena for this event then Anthony & I would definitely be up for it. We're based in Tunbridge Wells so it's about as convenient a location as we're ever likely to get. Although I do eventually mean to build a couple of Beetleweights (maybe a scaled...

Re: AWS 60 - Headington, Oxford - 30th Nov 2019
Well I see from the Team Panoramic YouTube page that the vid is scheduled to premiere at 19:30 tonight. So very soon we'll all be able to re-live those controversial moments in glorious Technicolour!

Re: AWS 60 - Headington, Oxford - 30th Nov 2019
Possibly dumb question but please make allowances 'cos I'm not a Twitch user... Is it possible to watch the 'live' stream of the event retrospectively or does that technology only support the viewing of live broadcasts? Longing to re-live the (very brief) moments of glory and catch up on all the bit...

Re: Cutting Polycarbonate sheet on budget CNC router
Well, to date I've always used a hacksaw and/or bandsaw for anything 2mm and above, with aviation snips for the thinner stuff. And yes, I cut slightly too big and file down to the line - though I now need to get some new files, having blunted my favourite Bahco's shaping and balancing the titanium t...

Cutting Polycarbonate sheet on budget CNC router
Has anyone tried using a 'cheap' (sub £200) CNC 3018 or similar router for cutting out shapes in 1-2mm polycarbonate sheet? I have zero experience of CNCs and would like to learn - but it would be nice to have something that will cut polycarb more accurately than my ham-fisted efforts with aviation-...

Re: Team Antiquarian & Anthony's Ant Army ready for battle
In answer to Antipodean, I'd say the flappy tyres felt pretty good, though I don't think we got into enough straight-out pushing contests to say with any certainty how much difference they made. TBH it was all a bit of a blur so I will have to wait until the vids appear on YouTube. At this stage, al...

Now THAT was awesome!
Fantastic organisation all round and I'm enormously jealous of the local populace for having such an amazing venue on their doorstep.
Thank you all so much!
