Re: Lipo 180mah 2S Compatible LOSB0863
Yes - I spotted that too and had a mild panic. I don't even want to imagine what would happen if they ever discontinued ALL 2S 180mah LiPOs... Meanwhile though, is there any reason why one shouldn't be able to charge a 2S pack using only the balance cable? My charger seems to require the dis...

Re: 3D printing robots
While it may sound perverse, I was totally flumoxed when I tried Sketchup but was able to get started quite easily with Autodesk's Fusion 360. While the latter is a bit intimidating and vastly powerful, I found it quite logical and easy to work with, once you've mastered a few basic concepts. Admitt...

Re: Antweight open/AWS 2019
Just wanted to add my own note of thanks to Dan, to his fellow organisers and to all the other teams for making us feel so welcome at our first event. Such a great atmosphere and everyone very helpful. More than made up for the long journey. Anthony was chuffed to bits at being given lots of helpful...

Re: Antweight open/AWS 2019
Hi Daniel, Do you have a rough idea of timings yet, particularly the cut-off for registration? Need to figure out how/when we can get there. Should still be possible, even with the scheduled train disruption but I don' want to miss the start. (Already signed up BTW. Team Antiquarian and Anthony's An...

Re: Antweight open/AWS 2019
Quick heads up for anyone else who was planning to come by train. Seems there's a rail replacement bus service between Woking and Basingstoke on Sat 12th so you probably want to allow an extra 30 mins or so for the journey.
Anyone know the expected kick-off time for the event?

"Bend and sketch..."
Bloody typical. Now that I've taken the plunge, invested in a 3d printer and started to get my head around designing antweights in printed ABS, rather than in cut and bent polycarbonate sheet, I find the latest update of Fusion 360 has finally added a load of 'Sheet metal' functionality. Haven't pro...

Re: Coping with the demand (An EO's perspective)
3-way battles for dbl-elimination round sounds intriguing and could add to the excitement if the software could cope (though I wouldn't go above 3 bots in a standard arena). Obvious downside is that individual fights would take longer, though whether significantly more would go the full 3 mins is do...

Re: n20 gearbox front plate thread size?
Hi Daniel, Like George says, it's M1.6 but do check the clearance behind the holes on your motots. The generic N20 gearboxes vary a lot in design; sometimes you'll find there's a gear wheel close behind the front plate (so a screw that protrudes through by more than a mm or so will literally screw i...

Re: Antweight World Series 58 - 29th June 2019
I might have missed something but... I'm seeing various mentions of 'Sheffield' and 'September' in relation to AWS 59 but can't find any details (and nothing on Antlog). If this is 'a thing' then it would help if someone could start a thread with whatever details are known at this stage.

Re: Antweight open/AWS 2019
Signed up Anthony and myself. May help get over the disappointment of not being able to come to Dunchurch.
