Re: Another noob bot
Hello, first of all, welcome! We really don't mind having more new people joining us and asking questions is the best way to learn, other than trial and error which tends not to be great when it comes to lipos. Antwights is a really great starting point to get into robotics so you've come to the rig...

Re: AutoBot
Nice idea but my first thoughts are that a pi zero is still very big for antwights and quite heavy too. You should give designing your own pcb a go it's genuinely a good experience and fun if your a nerd and are avoiding doing A level work. you can then use a microcontroller to do everything necessa...

AutoBot
Hi, as the name says, i'm now making a autonomous robot. Not for combat of any weight class, just for fun and possibly for showing off at "EM field" Development on a new pcb is now underway, i'm already a good way towards completing the schematic. The plan at the moment is to make an autom...

Re: Raspberry Pi zero as radio receiver
it has inputs for any kind of external receiver, and has built in bluetooth 4.0 LE.
voltage regulation capable of input anywhere between 10.8v to 3.3v. dual channel esc and full 9 axis IMU.

Re: Raspberry Pi zero as radio receiver
from the hardwere i know of, there is no perfect solution out there and they are all pretty massive for putting in a antwight, but i reckon the bbc micro bit might be better than the raspberry pi. i'm very interested to here what you end up doing. i built my own board that has basically everything y...

Re: How do, folks.
Firstly, welcome to the antweight robot community. If i were you, i would download google sketchup, it's completely free! and very easy to learn. we used to use cardboard models to design robots, so trust me when i say it will make it a lot easier. It will also help you to avoid one of the first mis...

Re: Questions about antweights - servos, switch placement, armour
firstly, Welcome to the great community of antweight robots. obviously if the servo will work for antweights will depend on exactly which servo you buy. in my experience those 9g servos are usually not up to the abuse, but if you find one with enough power, probably about 2 kgcm will do, then it sho...

Re: The smart ant's and flea's
the Smart Fleas, version 4 will be quite similar to version 3. but the other way round, servo behind the walking mechanism to make a better flipper, as we weren't happy with the way the flipper is on the version 3s. **picture of cad of version 3, i haven't started version 4 yet.** sf4-min.png and fi...

Re: The smart ant's and flea's
well after aws 53, i have basically no robots left so, here are the plans for a whole new team of robots and a few more for the future. starting with the spinner that i still haven't gotten around to building after several years of owning the parts to do so. a drum spinner with the new walking mecha...
