Re: Melees

In MMM they do it on a points system, 4 robots normally, points going up 1-4. If there are robots in the same points at the end they have a fight between the top scorers, either melee or 1v1 depending on the outcome.

Re: AWS 48, Basingstoke, 21st November 2015

It's his first event so I thought I'd give him something extra to drive so he got as many fights as he can.

I'm holding off signing up until a) I'm sure I'm coming (I will be there to drop off the HW's but likely the afternoon if I can't get the day off) and b) what I'm taking

Re: Nuneaton Open anyone?

Then I don't do it.

Also, I was thinking a random draw of teams would be a lot fairer, I agree on the Andy/Scott comment, but their robots would suck at Gauntlet :)

Re: Nuneaton Open anyone?

well I am sure we'd have roboteers with only 1 robot so we're making arrangements for that. Plus there will be a single elim comp for anyone that didn't get in. I know that may be restrictive but its all I can do really.

Re: Robots Live Stevenage 3rd/4th October 2015

I think that was Snibston when Limpets shell was on display downstairs :).

The beetle arena will be there at Stevenage, I intend to run a competition. Ant arena use does depend on space, I don't want to force it out but I can't take the beetle arena to every venue.

Re: Nuneaton Open anyone?

I want to gauge interest of doing the Antweight Team Champs at this venue (cost of venue has been the main limiting factor). For those unaware, the ATC's are a mixture of combat and games, set points for each event and in the past it was 4 teams of several ants, but this time it may be 8 teams of 2 ...

Re: Linear actuator

I have one here that belongs to you, dunno if its too slow for your use ?

Otherwise, Linacs are kinda pricey for fast acting ones, but get a pair of the beefy ones from Gimson Robotics should be adequate.

Re: Proposed rule changes 2015

I think the issue with Nano parts to cluster could be argued: They don't contribute a lot to the larger part in about 75% of cases (there are some where the nano has legitimately won a fight for its larger part) They are a cheap way to win (Being that it could be buzzing around whilst you take out t...
