Re: Using multiple small LiPos
Two motors at 120mA each (free-running, so about the lowest current you are likely to see) is more than 200mA. Are you sure about the 2C rating, as it's very low. Can you post a link to the battery specs? If the discharge rate (different to the charge rate) really is only 2C then the batteries will ...

Re: Using multiple small LiPos
Generally best not to connect cells in parallel. They will have (slightly) different voltages and the one at the higher voltage will discharge into the one at the lower voltage - with nothing to limit the current! No problem with connecting cells in series - that's what all battery packs do. 7.2V @ ...

Re: Sharing parts between two or more ants
No problem sharing transmitters between robots, almost everyone does it. As to parts, as others have said, you need to have 2 complete robots to tech check. Also, since your 2 robots will be in different groups it is possible that they could be in consecutive fights (last fight of group 1, first fig...

The autonomous section would be appropriate I would think, or you can put it in off-topic, regulars will find it if they're interested!

Re: Antweight Arena - Team ARC - Your input is needed!
Nothing wrong with M8 bolts! (Although you can't fit many in an antweight :P ) If you can, I'd suggest using wing nuts or some other tool-less fixings to make assembly and packing up easier. Nothing worse than having a crowd of willing volunteers but only one screwdriver! Captive nuts are also a goo...

Re: Antweight Arena - Team ARC - Your input is needed!
Hi Chris, and wlecome to antweights! I like the idea of being able to change the arena within the box. The original idea with antweights was that anyone could make an arena and challenge all-comers. With the advent of high power weapons a battle box became a necessity and thus the cost of building a...

Re: AWS 52 - Greenwich University - Sign up + details
Peter's right, Antlog considers each event as a single weight class, ie a single competition. Since fleas and nanos don't usually run double elimination it is easier to keep them separate.

There's not too much to list, so you're probably not far off :) Here's what we did for Brighton Mini-MakerFaire: Hazard: Sharp edges/points Who: Robot builders Risk: Cut hand whilst handling robots Control Measures: All sharp edges/points to be covered when robots are out of the arena Hazard: Spinni...

Re: Unathodox ant challange
One of the original ideas of ants was that anyone could build any arena and challenge all-comers to battle in it. With the massive increases in weaponry and the consequent need for a "bulletproof" battlebox this idea has rather fallen by the wayside. It's too expensive and/or complicated f...
