Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers

Cheers for the advice Peter :) Yeah, I had a look through your thread about selling ESCs, and very quickly decided not to sell them more officially :L I've checked the specs on the voltage reg i'm planning to use: from the 'Output Short Circuit Current vs. Differential Voltage' graph, It shows that ...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers

...would they have any compatibility issues with Corona receivers? If those receivers work with normal servos then should be fine; the ESC's only decoding the servo signals. Even if it did have a different servo signal, it should only be a case of changing 1 value in the program to calibrate it to ...

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers

Yeah, i chose the PIC cause it was small; hadn't really factored in the firmware :L The motor driver chips are good for 30V at ~4A; it's the CMOS logic chips that limits it, so it should be fine up to 18V :L And yeah, i'm only planning to sell to you guys with a lot of disclaimers :L Ooh, sounds int...

TinyTwo Speed Controllers

Hi guys, So 4 months ago when I started looking into antweights, I realized that there wasn't a whole load of small 2 channel ESC's available, and those which were costed far more than I had expected. So I thought, "I know, i'll just make my own! How hard can it be?" Well, 4 months later having spen...

Re: Modifying Cheap Transmitters For Mixing

Yeah, but this takes up no space in the robot and costs practically nothing! (plus i didn't know that at the time of writing :P)

Re: Another New Antweight..

I might have a look at doing a 4 bar linkage moved further back, though i'm concerned that the servo wouldn't have the torque for it.. Not that i know how much torque that servo has any more as it's been heavily modded with a more powerful motor and will shortly be converted to run on 8v

Re: Another New Antweight..

Yeah, i plan to add horns, but even with something under the robot to emulate horns, it struggles to self right; the center of mass is too far back so there's very little momentum to carry it over. I'm using heavy duty paper clips which use about 1mm diameter steel rod. It's doesn't bend as long as ...

Re: Another New Antweight..

Ok, so I'm having a few issues with flipper linkages; I've tried all manner of different combinations, and I'm struggling to get enough travel for the robot to self right, whilst still having enough power to flip anything properly... I've tried 3 bar and 4 bar linkages, and none of them have had eno...

Re: Peter Wallers Robot Ramblings

Would there be a way of integrating some thread or something into the tracks to stop them from stretching?

Re: Another New Antweight..

I've stuck a http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... Servo.html in there, which is the servo from Tinny.. It works fine for the moment, and has UK stock so if I can't find one with better spec, i'll get another one of these to use...
