Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Best bet would be to contact universities, but you're right about the weather. It's been hot recently but I guarantee it would turn on the day.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Thanks, must be my laptop because it wouldn't show on either forum but my phone does it fine! Looks like a fun draw :D

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

The image for the draws isn't showing for me. Fingers crossed we can go ahead this month but if not then we all have time to further refine our designs at least.

Wheels

Any idea where I can get some decent grippy wheels for an 8mm hex drive mount? I can only find 12mm on Amazon, Hobbyking or eBay.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

If table space is limited I can bring a small workbench if that would help? Can bring a couple of 4-plug extension cords too.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

That makes sense. I'll avoid bringing mine (they're based on toys so won't re-bind) but thank you for answering :D

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Given the team limits and distancing etc, I assume clusterbots aren't allowed? I'd ask another competitor to run them usually. Obviously wet wipes on remotes and that sort of thing would be a given, but I suspect I wouldn't be the only person who would potentially run a cluster if possible.

Re: Team Oh, It Broke Build Logs

Ended up changing plans somewhat: a pair of Nikko Nanotrax cars turned into wedges with titanium armour all around and plastic on top for weight reasons. Just need to add the safety link to the electrics and I'll have a clusterbot. Sadly with COVID I'm not sure competitions are letting more than one...
