Re: A mission for a new weapon
Don't forget to include "fun" as a category! Personlly I like the axe-bots, not because they're effective (no!) but because they are entertaining. Also I prefer to see more unconventional entries despite (or maybe because!) them being less effective. I've never entered a pusher in a tourna...

Re: Cost To Print An Antweight chassis/parts with PLA
Cost of 3d printing (today's fun) £200 cost of printer £20 /kg cost of materials £flip amount of swearing and buying spare parts, fitting them and it still not printing reliably !!?!? Yes cheapo 3d printers are a scam :) . Join a Hackspace with a good 3d printer and someone who knows how to maintain...

Re: Cost To Print An Antweight chassis/parts with PLA
I think the Hackspace charges something like 5p / gram, so it's still only a couple of quid, to use the Reading Hackspace's nice 3d printers. That includes some maintenance costs on the machines.
My 3d printer at home is broken; I think this is the default state for such a machine.

Re: Fingertech Viper
No you don't need 8 channels for this or indeed probably any combat robot.
I may be wrong, but isn't the Viper a US-Antweight (1 lbs / 450g) robot kit? It's not going to make weight for a 150g tournament certainly.

Re: Ant Freeze 8
Well if you push it back a couple of months - which may be prudent - then won't it need to be "Ant Thaw"?

Re: Can someone walk me through transmitter setup?
The very tiny receivers don't have telemetry so the binding process doesn't end - the transmitter just stays in bind mode until switched off; this is normal and when you power on it should work. If you have to move the stick diagonally to go straight, then mixing isn't configured - follow one of the...

Re: Antweight World Series 62 - Midsomer Norton - November 20th 2021
Hi, good news! 1. What is the maximum number of robots per team? I think we can expect this event to be "fully stacked". 2. Is there a maximum number of teams (pit space, time, etc?) 3. What is the sign up process / system? I suggest that maybe keep some slots open for newcomers (What is t...

Re: Ant Freeze 8
Hypothetically, would a "active weapons" exception be made for a meltybrain spinner?
