New to building a Robot, and have been watching some of the videos on YouTube (namely AWS56 and the more recent Dorset Robot Championship), and noticed an LED light on some robots but not all. Does an antweight need a way (such as an LED light) to show that it is armed and ready to fight, or is this just optional?
Thank you in advance for the help, and sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

No, it's optional but fun.
Some RXs or speed controllers have indicator LEDs, other builders add their own.
There was one robot at AWS56 - the one controlled by a MicroBit - had an amazing amount of bright LEDs, perhaps to blind the opponent?

Robots: Betsie - RaspberryPi controlled flipper bot with gyro stablisation - too clever for her own good?
