So we are 5 days away from the bots seeing some action. Only 1 thing left before im done ready for you guys to tear it to pieces....

... I want to attach a rubber band to the flipper to help it close. How do you attach it? Hot glue? Tape? Super glue?

I dont know what will be strong enough to hold but without being excessive?!

Thanks in advance (again!)

Miniature cable ties?

I'd drill a couple of small holes in the flipper lid and fit a tiny cable tie (wire wrap might do too)

If it's polycarbonate or similar, glue seems unlikely to stay stuck for long, especially hot-glue.

So im all build ready for you guys to destroy on Saturday.

very crude but does the job. it drives, flips and self rights.

made some spares so hopefully i last they day then back home to start of REPPILF MKII. i have already designed out most of the "faults" i came across in the build so i guess ive got the bug!!!

not sure if the picture will work but...

Nice work. I've noticed the red wire of your servo is linked between the battery and receiver. How did you link it up and how's it working for you? My own antweight is going slowly but I'm getting used to cutting polycarbonate straight now with the right tools.

Thanks!

Yes, i cut the servo wires to shorten them (to save weight). At the same time i wired the red wire into switch rather than through the nanotwo servo plug.

That way you get the full power from the battery and not the 5v from the nanotwo.

Im talking like i know what im talking about but what i did works so its all good!!!

Hi all,

Im well into my second build and a rebuild of my first and i am now looking at electronics.

With Nanotwos being out of stock and the "fire risk" of the dasmikro, whats my next best option?!

Contact Alex or Rory personally to ask about Nanotwos. "Out of stock" doesn't necessarily mean "not at all available" when they can make to order. Should be OK of they're not drowning in work.

Out of stock really is out of stock. Whenever any get made they go up on the store, issue is demand is so high they don't tend to last long on there. I've done a few things now like enabling a one per customer limit to try and get them spread out though.
