thats not good is it? Guess I got some weight shedding ahead but I'll hold off on that until I've looked at alternative materials.

Might work on making 3D models to test ideas.

Added more to the concept/ design/ model.



Might have gone overboard with it a little.

That looks very good, and I don't think you can really go over the top at the design stage.
I used to just do the basic parts but now I draw up the assembly including all the printing and non printing parts as groups then just save the printable parts as separate drawings for printing.

Well thats good, I did the design so it could be 3D printed in the future but still possible for it to be used to plan out a slightly basic version.

Are you printing via shapeways (Nylon sintering printers) or via a filament printer?

Not sure about the printing side of things yet (if I actually do get them printed) it's a case of which service and their cost. Plus the weight of the printed stuff.
