Sounds cool. Though the name Anticlimax is taken. It was a pink robot with a brushed disc that was around not that long ago, and I believe its still active somewhere. Look forward to seeing them all in!

Thought I could do with something to cluster my new spinner with, but seeing as my spinners getting pretty close to the weight limit, this thing needed to be pretty small..

I don't have a name for it yet, but here it is anyway:

Image

It's about 3x3x2 cm, and weights in at just 5 grams:

It's made from 3 of those micro helicopter/ aircraft toys that I had lying around and a lot of hot melt glue. It has half a gram of 1mm thick polycarbonate armour to offer some protection to the lipo.
Still leaves much to be desired on controllability; I'm hoping to improve that a little by the AWS. Has no reverse as well which could cause trouble :L

Not yet; can't keep it in shot yet :P Decided it's probably gonna be called 'Smidge' :)

My spinner's coming along ok; only problem is that I'm using one of those 25/40c 180mAh 3 cell batteries, which have a continuous output of 4.5A and a peak of 7.2A. The spinner motor I'm using draws about 8A max. It's ok for the moment, but I feel the battery isn't long for this world :L

You should be fine. I think most people with spinners use that battery pack. I use the same battery on a motor that's supposed to suck 9A and it can go a whole event without a charge. Mind you that is only on 2s. Once they're up and spinning the shouldn't be that near the max current quoted. Unless you have a particularly heavy or unbalanced disc?

Not using a blade so it's very little load... Should be ok then.

Ok, all my robots are now in a presentable state, even if they're not all quite finished:

Image

From left to right:
BullyDozer (4wd flipper)
Flail Whale and Smidge (spinner/pusher cluster)
Lionel (flipper)
Nuts (...thing)
Tinny (flipper)

and behind them is Mr Burns (flamethrower 8) ).

Flail Whale is still waiting for RS to deliver the HV driver chips so i can put together the ESC. The rest of them just need tweaking/ switches added etc.
Nuts is my Fleaweight, and Tinny has been rebuilt and given to my brother so he has something to do while he's at the AWS. So my antweight team will be BullyDozer, Flail Whale/Smidge, and Lionel. The parts for my walker went into fixing Tinny; It would have been a very poor effort if it did materialise. I'll probably put some better pics/ vids up on Friday if I have time.

Because Flail Whale and Smidge is a cluster you could always stick Nuts in the AWS as well if you thought it worthwhile.

I didn't realise having a cluster counted the same as having a walker... Neat! :) But I'll leave Nuts as a Flea; it's entirely ineffective against ants... no idea if it'll be any better against fleas but we'll see :P
