just ordered the wheels! pair of 100m blue wheels with nut inserts.

so:
motors - yep
batteries - yes
wheels - yes
armor (poly carb) - got it
esc - not yet
transmiton - nope

about another 100 too go till i got all the basics for a robot!

mmm for the speed control i recomend 2 50a marine esc for 33 quid
and i asume you mean transmitter i think a giant cod or planat five btw are you going to maidstone?

maidstone as in the roaming robots event. that speed controller looks good though.

i doubt ill be going, its a fair way for me and i dont even have a robot to fight.

and how would you wire up these esc's?

by the looks of it it has a positive and negative to go to the motor (blue and red wire) a battery in (white plug) and a thing to go to receiver (black plug with 3 wires.

are you using drill baterise? btw it think you can get tamaya conectors from maplins
