AWS55 - Call for volunteers

Post by cmalton »

I've put this into a separate thread from the main one as I don't want to be spamming everyone's notifications.

Having looked at the crew I need for this event, we need:
  • 5 judging panel (At least 3 of these must have judged at a minimum of 1 AWS before please)
  • 4-6 for the venue layout team - primarily moving tables (8-9AM and 5-6PM).
  • 1 for Car Park (8:30-9:30AM)
  • 2 for arena setup/teardown crew (8AM-9AM and 5-6PM).
If you are volunteering for any duty that has an AM and a PM component, please try to make sure you can do both. It makes life a lot easier when whoever got things out puts them back.

These are all in addition to myself who will likely be calling the batting order (or is that battling order?) and Rob and Al who will be working alongside me.

When signing up for "crew" roles, please state which role you wish to take on.

Thank you all in advance for your support.

Me and the guys I'm travelling with are happy to help set up. There's 4 of us, can be there for 8am and should be fine to stay til 6.

I'm happy to judge too.

limpet - That would be greatly appreciated - thank you. It should be relatively easy as all the spaces are marked and there should be an excess of spaces. Hi-vis jacket and radio link back to me will be provided.

Any more for any more? I think I have enough people but one or two more would be useful.

Hi Chris. Scott and Joe can't make it any more so it's just me and Craig for volunteering. I will do the work of 3 men to adjust, so don't worry :)

Though if anyone else fancies coming in early enough, let's go team!

Hi Chris, myself and my 11yr old son will be coming on Saturday for our first event. If you still need a hand setting up and clearing away then let me know. We only live a few miles away so can get there as early as you need us.

Dadam - your help would be very much appreciated as we have lost two from Dave's team.

I will posting a volunteer briefing pack here in the next day or so with details of exactly what the hall layout will be etc so that people can look ahead at what they are going to be doing and therefore hopefully improve efficiency.
