@voorsk - Yep - sorry - it's a big event and therefore we have to get going as early as possible as we will be squeezed on time.

Ok, it looks like I probably cannot get use of the car... (my partner needs to use it) - so I should be coming via train / bicycle.

There seems to be a fairly good cycle route from Rugby station - and of course my robot only weighs 150g (plus some spares and tools of course) - so I can cycle quite easily from the station with her.

Does anyone attending, who knows the area, want to give me their mobile phone number in case I get lost?

Thanks,

Mark

Last 24 hours to put your sign-ups in. I will be closing the draw tomorrow at ~10PM before I go to bed.

I am reliably informed by Dave W that we need a couple more robots to make this the biggest AWS to date!

Wow over 100 robots signed up.

Looking forward to this a lot now. Went to the afternoon Robots Live show yesterday, got me hyped up for AWS.

Must remember to get more batteries for my transmitter haha.

Sorry to take away from that number, but I’ve had to make the difficult decision to withdraw this evening.

There’s still quite a lot to do on my two, not helped by an undelivered transmitter, and whilst I could slave away every night this week and get one ready for Saturday I’ve decided I’d rather take my time and enter robots with a chance of putting up a good fight rather than a half-baked effort I wouldn’t be happy with.

I’m gutted of course, but I’m still planning on turning up on Saturday to watch, and learn from being there and asking questions if that’s ok? And if you need a spare pair of hands to help clean up I’m happy to stay behind afterwards.

@Michael it's definitely a good day out even if you're not fighting. My first event was ant freeze this year with just one bot that got eliminated very early. Still had a blast the whole day watching the tournament and checking out what some of the more well known teams were doing with their bots between fights etc.

@Chris - is it a new arena for this event or the one I've seen used on the videos from the last couple AWSs? If its new is there a sneak peek pic anywhere?

It's a brand new battle box for this event (assuming you'll all let me use it).

Check the ARC Robotics Facebook page for some sneaky preview photos: https://www.facebook.com/story.php?stor ... 3008801547

Would embed one but am on mobile having been on the road for the last 4 days.

The A34 is currently closed. Roboteers from South of Oxford should allow extra time for their journey tomorrow morning. It has just taken me 3hr 20 to get to Rugby from Southampton.
