AWS abroad

Post by peterwaller »

As there is now some discussion about having another AWS abroad I thought perhaps we should open a topic to gauge how much interest there would be and the likely numbers of people who would attend from the UK.
So if people could indicate if they would or would not attend such an event we could judge if it is likely to be a success before a lot of time and effort is expended.
For myself I had a great time at the ones I attended in Ireland and the Netherlands although I did miss the second Dutch one when all the flights were cancelled due to a volcano in Iceland.
I would be unlikely to attend as for family reasons I prefer one day events and also my passport expired some years ago and I didn't intend to renew it.

How much did it typically cost to get the plane over to the Netherlands when people went last time?

Before you criticize another person, first walk a mile in their shoes. Then, when you critisize them, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes.

I don't think I'd be able to make an overseas AWS unfortunately.

I can't remember the exact cost I seem to think it was around £80 but when you add on the airport parking, hotel and meals over there and taxis it was nearer £200 even back then.
