Stemming from the misspelling of the word "owns", being that the "p" key is right next to the "o" key. It does not mean the possesive "owns", but as in a form of domination, such as in a game or sport.
e.g.
Dude, he pwns you at Halo.
He pwns all of you at basketball.

2. pwns
pwns is a term for describing the act of dominating over someone or something
that was from http://www.urbandictionary.com, a dictionary of "urban" words 8)

Me too Pete, I may be 13, but I don't understand half these modern terms/abbreviations :P Don't see what's wrong with standard English myself....

i agree even though i'm 15 i don't know most of the abbreviations/words and i have googled several abbreviations that that people have sent me in emails just so that i can understand the email. :oops:
