AWS 52
Hey guys
Sorry I've been a bit quiet, I've had a lot going on and a lot on my mind.
Just wondering who has plans to host this? Robot Wars filming is in March so whoever does host, I suggest doing it in April because various people will be busy.
Any volunteers?

Re: AWS 52
I am looking into hosting it in our music hall at school however if anyone else wants to host go ahead as Gloucestershire is quite far west and I can't be sure if I can get the venue yet, I will be sure to ask soon though as it has about 24 plug sockets and is a good size.

Re: AWS 52
I think Robot Wars filming in March is starting to look doubtful

Re: AWS 52
Okay due to how busy I am in April and my parents unwilling to host so soon during school time I won't be able to do this but hopefully I can do the next one around summer holidays sort of time

Re: AWS 52
Another Dutch AWS could be possible, i have some good locations. There is a big German ant competition in Dortmund April 8th, so timing will be an issue.
Re: AWS 52
Im afraid melrose hall is booked up for the whole spring and summer so we cant do it. We should be able to do something in the winter though.
Featherweight under construction.
Antweight to build list: 4Wd lifter, new clusterbot, secret project, walker of some description.

Re: AWS 52
So far no-one has come forward, and with everyone in a stress regarding Robot Wars building, there may not be one. I will host if I have to but may have to ask for a few quid from competitors to pay for the hall.

Re: AWS 52
It would be a shame, but if can't happen thats ok theres still the rest of the year to do it. And I think it's only fair for competitors to pay something back to help fund the hall costs.

Is there any word as to when the next event is? Some buddies and I have just built some bots and we're raring to whet our teeth!

Re: AWS 52
Hi all,
New to the forum and to robot building.
Almost finished building my 'trial run' ant and starting plans for something more serious.
Would love to come and do battle at AWS52. Can travel pretty much anywhere in the UK!

Re: AWS 52
When would be a good time for you to host it Tim?
Richard Mannings and myself are looking at doing one in June (bit late for a first AWS of the year but all the circumstances have just made it so), but a summer one around August would be good.

Re: AWS 52
Don't forget the one at Greenwich Uni although not fully confirmed yet is scheduled for the 1st July.
Re: AWS 52
The problem with the Greenwich event is it clashes with Robots Live at Grantham, and I think there would be a few of the ant guys who also do beetles who would be there (Shakey, Rory, John Jnr). It can still be done as an ant demo but we would like to try avoid event clashes where we can.
